Looks like we need our carpets cleaned!
It looks like Dreamwidth needs our carpets cleaned, because a couple registered user spammers have gone and tracked their links all over! Keep those reports coming so the Terms of Service team can do their walloping.

A standard spammer procedure is to single out a few entries on a single journal and then barrage them with uniquely identifiable spam from different IP addresses and see what goes through and sticks around long enough to be picked up by search engines, so they know where the soft targets are.
After strafing somebody with ~10-20 pieces of spam over the course of a few days, they tend to move on to some other unlucky party.
If it's feasible for you to temporarily turn off anonymous commenting for a few days, that's one way to repel them.
